Royal weddings, charity balls, movie premieres – you name it, the royals have got a gorgeous outfit for it. Fashion expert Melita Latham spoke exclusively to about the royal fashion influence.

She stated: “Kate Middleton has to be crowned with the title of today’s worldwide fashion influencer from the British Royal Family. We are acutely aware that anything Kate wears will sell out within hours of publicity.”

There’s even a name for the Duchess of Cambridge’s sway over our fashion consciousness: “The Kate effect”.

And despite being married to the Queen’s grandson, and possible future King, her style is attainable for women everywhere, with the Duchess favouring high street brands such as Marks & Spencer, Boden, Accessorize, Whistles and & Other Stories.

Melita stated: “Kate’s polished style and often affordable attire resonates with many women across the world.

“She juggles working life with parenting whilst remaining classy and elegant – who wouldn’t be inspired by Kate?”

From across the pond, Meghan Markle also has a lot of style influence over the globe.

“As of late she has ditched royal protocol and ventured into style choices representing herself and her personality, perhaps an advertisement for potential recruiters in her previous line of work. The world of showbiz.

“The reality is Meghan worked in an industry where you had to dress to impress potential employers, like a walking billboard for her next movie appearance.

“We can’t deny Meghan the fact that she looks gorgeous in any outfit she wears but since the transition from the UK to America you can clearly see the change in her fashion choices that could help her walk through the stage doors of showbiz once again.”

Queen Elizabeth II, matriarch of the Royal Family, has been a style icon throughout her seven decades of rule, and may even be able to take credit for other royals’ fantastic fashion.

Melita stated: “The Queen has always been the influencer among today’s influencers within the Royal Family.”

She is famous for her vibrant, eye-catching and deliberate ensembles.

“The Queen will always be seen. Her bold colours will be memorable not just as fashion choices but people will remember her when seeing her in public in person.

“She will incorporate nods to countries she visits or as a mark of respect for certain occasions so she is thoughtful in that regard.”

Royal Collection Trust stated: “For a Commonwealth tour, Her Majesty’s wardrobe is meticulously planned by the Queen’s dresser and designers. As a compliment to the host nation, the Queen’s dresses often incorporate national colours or emblems.

“At a state dinner in Lahore during the 1961 tour of India and Pakistan, Her Majesty wore a magnificent Duchesse-satin gown in ivory and emerald green, the national colours of the country. On a visit to Canada on the occasion of the 1976 Montreal Olympics, one of the Queen’s dresses was embroidered with stylised Olympic rings.”

Queen Elizabeth II’s daughter Princess Anne is also a style icon in her own right.

Melita stated: “Princess Anne is in tune with the sentiment of today’s fashion, it’s hard to ignore the recycling of her own wardrobe.”

The Princess Royal is unafraid of repeating an outfit, for example one blue fur-lined coat has seen the royal through five decades worth of winters (so far).

Her trusty and trendy Adidas sunglasses are also a recurring staple.

“Recreating previous decades and wearing them today is inspirational.”

She concluded: “Princess Anne holds her own.”

But while Princess Anne, the Queen and Meghan Markle all hold their own in the royal style ranks, “it is without doubt that Kate is the most copied female royal for fashion choices. All rights reserved. | Newsphere by AF themes.
